Operational Safety and First Aid

Emergency Treatment for Poisoning:

  1. Immediately rinse the mouth well with water.
  2. Neutralize with a suitable chemical. If acid has been swallowed, neutralize by drinking 8% w/v, magnesium hydroxide suspension. if an alkali has been swallowed neutralize by drinking lemon juicer or 1% Acetic acid.
  3. Drink 3 or 4 cups of water.
  4. Seek medical attention.

Emergency Resuscitation when a Person Stop Breathing:

If a person stops breathing following an electric shock or for any other person.
Artificial respiration must be applied as soon as possible.

Mouth to mouth respiration:

  1. Lie the unconscious person on the floor supporting the reck, tilt the heard backwards with the chin pushed up wards.
  2. If the person does not start to breathe, begin immediately mouth respiration
-Open your mouth wide a take a deep breath.
-Pinch the person’s nostrils together with your fingers.
-Press your lips around the person’s mouth .
-Blow into the person’s mouth until the chest is seen to rise.
-Remove your mouth and watch the chest fall as the air escapes from the langs.
-Repeat the inflation at the normal rate of breathing with 10-15 breaths per minute.
